Revell TIE-Fighter Darth Vader Model Kit

Darth Vader used this prototype, the basis for the frighteningly effective TIE Interceptor, in the Battle of Yavin. Unlike all other TIE fighters, this prototype has a deflector shield generator and a simple hyper drive. Vader's TIE Advanced is armed with heavy double blaster cannons, but has no life support systems. The TIE Advanced is characterised by a shell made of a dural steel alloy, an extended aft deck and unique solar cell wings. The TIE Advanced quickly became one of Darth Vader's favourite ships. Like all TIE ships, the prototype propulsion system consists of double ion engines. Its solar ionisation reactor is considered to be considerably more powerful than that of the standard TIE fighters. The TIE Advanced has proven itself in combat as it can withstand many direct hits. The pilots' chances of survival were also significantly improved by installing a hyper-propulsion system that enables the ship to escape hopeless battles.
